Our bee pollen is harvested in a way that prioritises the well-being of the bees. Our beekeepers specially designed pollen traps that are placed at the entrance of the beehive. These traps allow bees to enter but gently collect some of the pollen as they pass through.
This specially designed trap is designed to collect only a portion of the pollen the bees gather. This ensures that the bees have enough pollen left for their own nutrition and hive health. Our beekeepers monitor the pollen traps regularly to ensure they do not over-harvest. This careful management helps maintain the colony’s strength and productivity.
Throughout this process, the bees remain unharmed and continue to thrive, ensuring a sustainable practice for both the bees and the beekeepers.
How do I use the bee pollen?
The recommended daily dose of bee pollen is 1 teaspoon. You may want to start with 1/2 a teaspoon and work your way up to 1 tsp per day over time. If there are any seasonal allergies or allergies to pollen present, please consult your healthcare practitioner prior to trying the product. We love bee pollen sprinkled over yogurt, oatmeal, or avocado toast, or blended into a smoothie.
What are the dark granules?
Bee pollen often features darker granules during specific seasons. As bees gather pollen, they visit hundreds or even thousands of flowers each day. The pollen's color changes based on the types of flowers in bloom that the bees visit. Some batches of our bee pollen have darker, purple granules, typically sourced from Purple Viper's-bugloss flowers, as well as Rockrose, Mustard, and Common Heather plants.
